Overriding Network Interface Speed - For Asynchronous connections

Hi all,

Is there anything we can do for those situations where the connected Interface has differing upload and download speeds?  We've got a bunch of ADSL and Cable internet links connected to our firewall devices in remote offices that we'd like to monitor, but the interface utilization calculations don't really work in this scenario as if you set the Speed Override to the download speed (which is generally much greater then the upload speed) then you never get a interface utilization warning for the upload. Similarly, if you set it to the Upload speed then you'll get loads of false warnings from the download interface utilization which has plenty of available bandwidth left.

Any way to have a different 'Speed Override' setting for the upload and download directions?

Ah, just stumbled across this information in the Description text of the Discover xSNMP Network Interface Speed Override Property object:

If distinct speeds must be set for inbound and outbound communication, input the speed in Bits/Sec as a comma-seperated pair: <inbound speed>,<outbound speed> (e.g. 1500000,3000000). If only one value (with no comma) is input, it will be used for inbound and outbound speeds.

Didn't see this info in the documentation, but very good to know!
